An Old Sidewalk with a Story

An old story has been hiding in our front yard. It was just right there, under a couple of inches of grass.

It's an old sidewalk.

Complete with two dog prints from some historic pooch.

We built our house a few years ago on an old home place. A beautiful Victorian home once stood on this corner lot. And it must have had sidewalks!

There's just nothing better than sidewalks. They connect us. They say, "Hey, come on over to our house." Unfortunately there aren't that many existing sidewalks in the neighborhoods in our town.

So we're excavating a portion of it, just for old-time's sake. And we will plant some kind of old-fashioned hedges on the house-side of the sidewalk.

And we will love it.

  1. Such a great sidewalk! I can't wait to see what it looks like when the grass turns green and makes everything look inviting! :)

  2. It's so quirky (okay, maybe weird) to have this piece of sidewalk just floating in the yard. But we've decided to stop there and decorate around it.

    Glad you like it too.

  3. Meh I don't think it'll be weird...people need to have an imagination!
