Let There Be Lights!

This year the kids were home to help with some of the decorating. We started with the outside lights and decorations. Scrappy's loving his spot (and the spotlight on him) in the yard.

Then the tree. Jake and BrieAnn and Cora and I had a great time reminiscing as we put each ornament on. (Vaughn and 'Nolia were busy napping.) Cora's favorite was...oh wait.  Maybe I'll blog later this week about some of our favorites.

After the tree was all done up, Cora and I started working on the Nativity. We had already read lots of stories about everybody who was there at the manger, so it was fun to see her excitement as we pulled each piece out of the box.

This might come as a surprise to you, but I'm a little nostalgic. Every piece of Christmas decor I own has a story of happiness wrapped up in it. Whether it was mine from the get-go, or I (more than likely) got it at a garage sale or flea market, the story is happy.
